Hoa Phat Group in Vietnam is experiencing a surge in both production and sales of steel coils and plates, leading the Southeast Asian market.

On January 12, Hoa Phat Group, Southeast Asia's largest steel producer, released its 2025 performance report. Total crude steel production reached 11 million tons, a 26% year-on-year increase. Sales of steel coils and plates were particularly strong, helping the group's total sales exceed 10.6 million tons for the first time, a 31% year-on-year increase, officially entering the ranks of "ten-million-ton-level" integrated steel suppliers.

Sales of steel coils and plates were particularly strong, helping the group's total sales exceed 10.6 million tons for the first time, a 31% year-on-year increase, officially entering the ranks of "ten-million-ton-level" integrated steel suppliers. Hot-rolled coils (HRC) were the core growth engine, with sales reaching 5 million tons, a 73% year-on-year increase, accounting for 60% of Vietnam's production and sales of similar products, establishing an absolute leading advantage. Galvanized steel sheet production remained stable at 423,000 tons, and sales of various coated steel sheets reached 103,000 tons, mainly supplying Vietnam's domestic steel pipe manufacturing, machinery equipment, and home appliance sectors. It is reported that Hoa Phat Group is accelerating capacity upgrades, expecting its overall capacity to increase to 16 million tons by the end of 2026, with 60% of that used for producing high-end steel coils and plates, serving high-end sectors such as automobile manufacturing and shipbuilding, further consolidating its dominant position in the Southeast Asian market.
